Help choose the location for Goldschmidt2028

The Geochemical Society and EAG are seeking your input on the location of the 2028 Goldschmidt conference. As 2028 is an even-numbered year, the conference will be held in North America or another region outside Europe. Many factors go into the decision, including cost, accessibility, carbon footprint, and the popularity of the city. Input from the community will help the societies balance these considerations. The survey is anonymous and should take five minutes or less to complete.

Apply to be a Mentor

The EAG and Geochemical Society are seeking applications for mentors for their virtual mentorship program. The program connects students and geochemists at any career stage from low or lower-middle income countries (as defined by the World Bank) with scientists from across the globe who can assist and guide them towards achieving one of the following:

  • writing graduate school, internship and fellowship applications (for example, statements of purpose)
  • troubleshooting with laboratory equipment
  • connecting collaborators to execute specific projects

Please consider volunteering to serve as a mentor. With a small time commitment, you can make a big difference for an early career scientist.

Kinetics of low-temperature H2 production in ultramafic rocks by ferroan brucite oxidation

Ferroan brucite, (Mg,Fe)(OH)2, is among the potential mineral candidates for low temperature (<423 K) abiotic H2 production in ultramafic rocks. To verify this assumption, synthetic ferroan brucite with grain size...
